Keep Your Lips Super Soft and Nourished Throughout Autumn
Now that Summer is well and truly over (boo!), our central heating will soon be switched on as temperatures outside start dropping. Don't be surprised if you notice your lips getting a little more dry and flakey than usual. Heating systems in our home and harsh weather conditions play havoc with our skin. Because the skin on our lips is so thin, it is usually the first part of our body to be affected by the colder weather. |
Luckily, we've put together a handy list of tips for keeping your lips luscious and soft - after all, it will soon be time for kissing under the mistletoe (yes, we mentioned it!)

Did you know? There are claims that high shine lipsticks and glosses can actually harm your lips in the sun. By acting like a magnifying glass, they can direct harmful UV rays right to your lips. Keep protected by picking lipsticks and glosses with an SPF value of 15+ (Source: Is SPF important in lip products?). |
Stop licking your lips!
Even the NHS recommends you go easy on licking your lips, because when that saliva evaporates it leaves your skin even drier. Licking also washes away your lips' natural oils, a double whammy for dry lips! In severe cases, Perioral Dermatitis (known as Lip Lickers Dermatitis) can occur... ouch! If you just can't stop the habit, make sure you generously apply Lip Balm several times a day. |
